Saucey Sauces

Here are some sauce recipes to take your food to the next level! Sauces should be limited to a tablespoon, sauces below can be a little more as they are homemade with no added sugars or chemicals.


Green goddess dressing

· 1 cup plain yogurt

· 1/2 medium avocado

· 1 tbsp cilantro

· Juice from one lemon or lime

· 2-3 garlic cloves

· Sea salt & black pepper to taste

Blend all ingredients together and enjoy!


Tzatziki

· 1/3 cup plain yogurt

· 1/2 medium cucumber, peeled and slices

· 1 Tbsp. lemon juice

· 1 tsp. minced garlic

· 2 tsp. fresh dill

· Dash of sea salt and black pepper

Throw all ingredients into a blender and enjoy!


Basil walnut pesto

· 4 ounces fresh basil (about 2 cups packed leaves)

· ¼ cup walnuts

· 1 garlic clove, peeled and smashed

· 1 tsp. lemon juice

· ¼ cup + 2 Tbsp. olive oil, divided

· Sea salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste

Blend together and enjoy!


Guacamole

· 2 large avocados

· 2 cloves minced garlic,

· 1/3 cup finely diced onion

· ½ tsp. cumin

· pinch of cayenne (more for kick)

· ¼ tsp. sea salt or to taste

· dash of pepper

· Juice of 1 lime

Mash together in a bowl and keep the pit of one avocado in the guacamole to keep it from going brown


Sweet Thai

· 1/2 cup maple syrup

· 1/4 cup water

· 2 tbsp white or rice vinegar

· 1 tbsp cornstarch

· 1 garlic clove minced

· 1 tsp salt

· 1/2 tsp red chili pepper flakes

In a pot, whisk all ingredients until combined. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 7-10 minutes until thickened
